Rick Jones is the NEW 2nd Vice President of the International Association of Arson Investigators

The International Association of Arson Investigators is an organization containing the global leaders in fire investigation. The mission of the organization is to provide active support to fire, arson, and explosion investigation professionals through leadership in education, training, professional development, certification, networking, advocacy, and the provision of resources. The IAAI has been instrumental in creating a professional association for fire investigation professionals, united by a strong commitment to fire investigation. This commitment includes volunteers who donate their time for the greater good of the organization. 

Rick Jones of Forensic Investigations is one such individual. He joined the IAAI in 1998 and has been actively involved in the organization at both the local and international levels. Rick previously served on the Louisiana IAAI chapter Board of Directors and ultimately advanced to the position of Chapter President of the Louisiana chapter on two occasions. He served on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Arson Investigators for 6 years and continues to serve on: the IAAI CFI committee as committee chair; the FISC committee; the IAAI strategic planning committee; the IAAI Foundation Board; the IAAI Training and Education Committee; the Editorial Review Committee for the Fire and Arson Investigator Journal; and, the IAAI Firearson.com Website Content Review Committee. 

He is also a facilitator for the IAAI ECT and EWCT programs and also served as committee chair for the IAAI publication Fire Investigator Principles and Practice to NFPA 921 and 1033, for both the 2014 edition and the 2017 edition of the publication. Additionally, he serves as an alternate NFPA committee member for NFPA 1300 Standard on Community Risk Assessment and Community Risk Reduction Plan Development, NFPA 1452 Guide for Training Fire Service Personnel to Conduct Community Risk Reduction, NFPA 1730 Standard on Organization and Deployment of Fire Prevention Inspection and Code Enforcement, Plan Review, Investigation, and Public Education Operations, and NFPA 302 Motor Craft. Rick is also a board member serving on the Forensic Specialties Accreditation Board.
